Help!
I'm now on my fifth week of babysitting builders. During this time Illustration Friday has become my only friend and kept me sane while plumbers, joiners, electricians, heating engineers (basically plumbers with cleaner boiler suits), plasterers and shortly tilers, come and go according to some arcane principal that I, a mere client, totally fail to comprehend. Perhaps it's got something to do with the phases of the moon? I'll have to check because a job that could have been done in two weeks without undue sweat is now looking unlikely to be finished by Christmas. Ah well.
This was an easy choice of illustration because despite my follicular deprivation I can relate to the way the blonde in my cartoon feels- tied up and helpless while evil, cackling baddies sneak off into the night...

Toe dipping
Came across 'Illustration Friday' and it's idea of creating a piece of work to a weekly theme. This week's is 'Mask' and that's what the drawing here is all about.
So in all innocence I had a look at some of the other stuff and it was a fairly mixed bag. One that stood out was a really nice wee robot with a mask. It belonged to someone in California and I dropped a note saying how much I liked it with a suggestion based on my own experience of how it could have been tweaked a little. Oops. I should know at my age to read things more clearly. The whole point of the site is to put in your drawings and every one says nice things about them or nothing at all. Oh well. I did apologise and someone leaped to her defense and there are probably armies of illustrators out for my blood with sharpened clutch pencils at the ready!
So I'm off to post my Christmas cards- the first year I have done my own, if only we could just email a greeting and cut out the middle man and save a stamp...
